A1 Garage Door Service

Matt installed my garage door this past Monday. Man was he fast and by himself. He then stayed around and stayed around and helped me with the MyQ app setup and the opener in my jeep. A1 was not the cheapest price around, but the knowledge and service i was given I feel glad i went with them.

The great experience started with the appointment phone call. The person was very nice and explained the process. Once my installer was here, he sent a text to say he was coming in 30 minutes. I appreciated the text. When he arrived, he was very polite and professional. And the work he did was great. If needed, I will call on them again and recommend the company.

As aging seniors, we are so grateful to have had Bob from A-1 at our home today to repair and update our garage door. He is professional, highly knowledgeable, and incredibly considerate of seniors! A-1 is unique in that they truly protect and maintain your door and provide annual maintenance checks free of charge. We highly recommend them!

Dakota Klee, our technician, was exceptionally helpful and took the time to educate us on the importance of garage door functionality, safety, and overall effectiveness. What stood out even more was his professionalism and patient approach—he allowed us to make informed decisions based on our specific needs without ever feeling pressured. There was something that bothered me. Originally going to come out for just an estimate. That’s what I scheduled, an estimate. Tech got here and after speaking to my husband, (whom could be talked out of his beating heart) he felt it was important to get door down. I’m in a wheelchair and the garage is a access to get out as it is attached to the house. The price quoted to fix it over $900. It would open and close for my safety. Of course they would minus that amount from new door. He never told my husband the amount of the new door at that time. When I saw the fixed door it was so sturdy compared to the other company that fixed it. I was quite impressed. But the cost was over $900 compared to the preceding company that charged $390. I mentioned that I thought it was a just an estimate. That is when the service tech looked at me and said his son was in a wheelchair and he wouldn’t feel right leaving me with no way out of the home. In hindsight you should’ve said you know what I will get out here tomorrow and replace it. That’s when I found out the repair was over $900 and the new door was going to cost over 2000 it’s really is not that bad. The problem is is we forced into going with your company because of that $900 that would have been lost. The worst part of all of this is my husband wasn’t home and I had to get out one day and the door would not open. Had my husband been here he could’ve looked at the door but he wasn’t here and I was tracked. The one thing your sales person was so concerned about…I guess that the opener was never hooked up. In the end the door is beautiful. Couldn’t get in the same door for less money I think I could’ve. Lesson sales people will fabricate to sell. It really isn’t about you and your needs it’s about them and how much they can get.

A1 Garage Door Specialist was great to work with for my garage door repairs. Initially I called for service to replace a broken key pad. Upon inspection it revealed that I needed new rollers & weather stripping. Davon Johnson, my technician, explained the importance of replacing these parts. I could see that the existing rollers were crumbling & knew I had gaps at the edge of the weather stripping. He made the repairs quickly. My garage door is opening & closing smoothly once again. I’m thankful for the honest, efficient service.
