Having found myself in a unique situation selling my home much more quickly than expected, I found myself in a situation that required expedition of my relocation to Ohio from California. Not wanting to move twice I quickly aligned with a realtor in Ohio and found a Patio Home that looked quite suitable for my needs. In light of the insufficient disclosure statement and lack of enforcement of dishonesty with them, I was dependent on a comprehensive inspection by a highly skilled and experienced inspector which brings me to Rick Schaffer of American Home Inspections. Rick Schaffer found several issues not disclosed and noted the severity level, including annotated diagrams, photographs, and recommendations. It was unfortunate that I was not able to attend the inspection as I was consumed with the sale of my home in California and thus I ran into some challenges after taking ownership of the Ohio Patio Home. Rick and I communicated on a call and he offered to follow-up and come out to go over some of the issues to help me better understand how to address them. Rick even went as far as to show me how to get the windows open that were not well maintained by the previous owner without breaking them! Additionally, Rick helped to educate me on the Radon issues in this part of the country. Rick Schaffer went beyond just doing a Home Inspection and clearly is passionate about helping buyers make the right decision about a potential purchase, he has a solid understanding of his importance in such transactions. I am most grateful for his knowledge, passion, and sincere alignment and understanding who his true client is -- the buyer, not the real estate agent.
