Great company! We debated the idea of getting a home inspection, especially because we were purchasing a new construction. However, boy are we glad we did. Our inspector was extremely knowledgable and patient with us, and thanks to Redstar we were able to catch multiple issues with our brand new home and get them repaired prior to moving in. It would have been a nightmare to find these issues down the line after occupying the home. Our inspector was also bilingual which was a nice bonus for him to be able to communicate with our in laws who also had questions. Overall just a great experience and would definitely recommend Redstar to anyone looking for a home inspection.

Thank you for the awesome inspection RedStar! I’ve bought and sold many homes in the past and your team is definitely the most thorough and professional I’ve used. I really like the digital report and the super cool virtual report. I’ve never seen anything like this before. I appreciate that I can measure things inside the house from the virtual report. It’s also really helpful to be able to walk through the house whenever I have a question about something in there. Your inspector, Scott, was very personable and took quite a while to go over everything with me. He answered all of my questions and was very patient. I will definitely recommend you guys and will use you in the future when I move again.

First class service and report. Steve Gibson did the inspection. He was thorough and clearly explained to me in person what was normal, needed attention and if there were any show stoppers. He also answered the many questions I had clearly and succinctly. The report was easy to read with recommendations for issues that were highlighted during the inspection. The Virtual Report was also a nice to have. I had a few questions after the report was issued and the office staff were more than helpful with a big shout out for Tammy who communicated extremely quickly. I would certainly recommend this 1st class service..

Gas Leak Missed During Inspection – A Serious Safety Oversight I hired RedStar Home Inspections to perform a thorough inspection before purchasing my home. I selected one of their higher-tier packages expecting a detailed and reliable assessment of any potential hazards — especially related to safety. Unfortunately, just days after moving in, my family and I noticed a strong gas smell. CenterPoint Energy confirmed that there was a significant gas leak at the meter assembly outside the house — right in the area the inspector had reviewed. This was deeply concerning, as the gas was already connected at the time of inspection, and my husband had specifically mentioned the smell to the inspector, who dismissed it as not serious. The report did not mention it at all, nor did it suggest any follow-up for gas concerns. When I raised this issue with RedStar, they responded that: -The inspector does not recall the conversation. -The gas leak was the utility company’s responsibility. -The issue has already been fixed, so it's "no longer a concern." -Their report was otherwise thorough. In my opinion, a gas leak is one of the most critical issues a home inspector should identify, especially when a client specifically mentions a concern. Dismissing the comment and failing to document or further investigate it — despite having gas detection tools — reflects poorly on the thoroughness of the service. Yes, other issues were reported, but overlooking a dangerous gas leak makes it hard to trust the overall inspection quality. I requested a refund due to this serious omission, but the company declined, standing by their inspector. I’m sharing this so others can be aware. I expected a safety-first, professional service, but my experience was disappointing and potentially dangerous. ⭐☆☆☆☆ Fuga de gas no detectada durante la inspección – Un grave descuido de seguridad Contraté a RedStar Home Inspections para realizar una inspección detallada antes de comprar mi casa. Elegí uno de los paquetes más completos, esperando una evaluación confiable y minuciosa, especialmente en lo relacionado con la seguridad. Lamentablemente, pocos días después de mudarnos, notamos un fuerte olor a gas. CenterPoint Energy confirmó que había una fuga de gas significativa en el ensamblaje del medidor, justo en el área que el inspector había revisado. Esto fue muy preocupante, ya que el gas sí estaba conectado al momento de la inspección, y mi esposo incluso le comentó al inspector que se percibía el olor a gas, pero él lo descartó como algo sin importancia. En el informe no se mencionó absolutamente nada al respecto ni se hizo alguna recomendación de seguimiento. Al presentar mi queja a la empresa, respondieron que: -El inspector no recuerda la conversación. -La fuga es responsabilidad de la compañía de gas. -El problema ya fue solucionado, por lo que "ya no es una preocupación". -El resto del informe fue exhaustivo. Desde mi punto de vista, una fuga de gas es uno de los riesgos más graves que un inspector debe identificar, especialmente cuando el cliente lo menciona directamente. Ignorar el comentario y no documentar ni investigar más —teniendo además herramientas para detectar gas— demuestra una falta de rigurosidad preocupante. Sí, el informe señaló otros problemas, pero pasar por alto una fuga de gas tan evidente y peligrosa me hace cuestionar la calidad del servicio en general. Solicité el reembolso por este descuido grave, pero la empresa lo negó, respaldando al inspector. Comparto mi experiencia para que otros compradores estén advertidos. Esperaba un servicio profesional y enfocado en la seguridad, pero recibí algo muy distinto.
