Homeowners insurance arranged for Paul Davis to come clean up after water damage. They responded quickly, but gave us very short notice when they could come out, like 20-30 minutes. Or they would text in the morning saying they were coming out today, and then we wouldn’t hear anything till 7 o clock or later, they came out past 8 pm multiple times. They also created damage, their tape peeled paint from my walls, they snapped wood pieces instead of removing the whole thing and my door trim was damaged. They never said anything and didn’t reach out or come back for me to address it with them in person. Fighting with insurance to get more money to fix this damages is too difficult and I will be paying out of pocket for this.
We had a water pipe in our basement break flooding our son’s bedroom. Our insurance company contract with Paul Davis for the repair which involved the remediation of the water damage preventing mold, replacing , insulation, sheet rock and then paint and molding. We were very pleased with how seamless the process was and the fact that they kept us informed on what the next was when it was scheduled. All the trades where here when they said they would be and skilled and professional at their job.
RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! If this review helps one person avoid the experience we had, that will feel worth it. This company was recommended to us by insurance after our house flooded, and I wish I would have taken the time to read the reviews before agreeing because it would have been a good indicator for what our experience would be. I’m sure Paul Davis will have some kind of response for why it was not their fault since that tends to be the case on other negative reviews, but hopefully anyone reading this will see that as an indicator of the way Paul Davis treats its customers. Ultimately, we discontinued our relationship with Paul Davis to finish the project ourselves, but we wish we would have cut ties much sooner because we are still trying to fix their subpar work and mistakes over a year later. We had a horrible experience overall, but for the sake of this review, I will focus on their professionalism/communication, project management, and quality of work. Professionalism/communication- I was treated as if I didn’t still live in my house, which I did, with two children younger than 3. I was never told when people were going to show up to my house unless I reached out. If I wanted to know the next steps, I had to reach out and often didn’t receive any communication back for days. All of this was happening while I had no working kitchen and an unsafe space for kids. Most times, I would only get an hour's notice, at most, and sometimes they would call me on my doorstep. It was very frustrating as a nursing mother with children who still nap and were terrified of all the new people coming in and out. When I expressed concerns about anything with the project or house, I was disregarded and threatened that they would pull out and not guarantee the quality of any of the work, which they ended up not doing anyway. I also tried expressing concerns to our project manager’s supervisor and was disregarded by him as well. They definitely don’t care about their customers, and I feel like they tried to use fear tactics to get us to stick around. I wish we would have called their bluffs much sooner. Project Management- As a previous professor of project management, I was dumbfounded by the way Paul Davis (and specifically our project manager) handled this project. Although we were presented with a contract from the beginning, I’m unsure whether or not our project manager actually ever read it. Although there was a place for a "finish date," we never actually received one, which meant they could push things off and take their time as much as they wanted. Our flood happened in September 2024, and we are still addressing issues and concerns in November 2025. In addition, our project manager messed up multiple things that pushed back our timeline, including not getting a dry waller on the schedule in time, not telling our flooring guy that we needed a subfloor installed first, and failing to submit a change order when we originally talked about it. Quality of work- My husband works in the construction industry, so obviously, we know there are some things that are just unavoidable. However, Paul Davis was careless and reckless with our house. They broke one of the valves in our bathroom and didn’t say anything about it but left it for me to find leaking water all over the floor–not a setting feeling when the original work was because of a flood. We had countless damages from things hitting our walls, baseboards, etc., which they eventually but begrudgingly fixed. They damaged multiple pieces of furniture, including breaking our tv stand and never said anything. I had to ask multiple times and escalate the issue in order to get them replaced and taken care of. Finally, they left us with a very creaky, unlevel floor (which they claimed needed "leveled") and refused to fix any of it. Overall, we feel like we were left with a product that looks worse and less professional than when we started, which is pretty sad given that our house is 20 years old.
We experienced a garage fire this year, and Paul Davis handled every part of the restoration for us. The damage was extensive, with smoke and soot throughout our home, but their team guided us through the process with professionalism and care. The contents team who managed our belongings was exceptional. Our project manager, Carson Bybee, went above and beyond—clearly explaining each step, carefully overseeing the personal property inventory and non-salvage items, and making sure we were kept informed throughout the claim. He even ensured our belongings were returned to the correct rooms in our home, and I was genuinely impressed with the level of respect and care his team showed for our property. Our repair manager, Tyler Fawson, was equally outstanding. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and proactive—addressing concerns I hadn’t even considered and pushing the project forward quickly so we could return home sooner. His professionalism gave us confidence that everything was being handled the right way. I couldn’t be happier with the way our property was restored. I would highly recommend the Paul Davis contents and fire repair team to anyone facing a similar situation.
Paul Davis to the Rescue, and I don't make that statement lightly. After a multiyear lawsuit and botched repairs by another restoration company, I was fortunate to find Brandon Cox with Paul Davis. Brandon provided a fair and honest bid, straightforward communication, and stood Infront of issues as they presented themselves. During most construction work minor problems and issues will undoubtedly happen, the customer service I received from Brandon (Paul Davis) was outstanding in resolving and completing the job to my satisfaction. My home is as good as new and for the first time in years I can enjoy it and put the headaches behind me. I highly recommend Paul Davis, and if you're lucky enough... Brandon Cox. Look no further, I did that work for you, call Paul Davis today!
Sheet rock needed to be removed under two bedroom windows. The insulation and sheetrock were wet. Apparently the windows leaked for a long time. They came in and removed all debris. Fans on and It took awhile for the wood beams to dry. They are all polite and professional. This is my 2nd time to use Paul Davis. I would definitely recommend them.
We own 4 homes and Paul Davis has taken care of issues in all of them. The team is always polite, thorough, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Very happy with their work. We wouldn't use anybody else.
